This morning was the ADEO 5k. I was gonna run it to get a t-shirt, but then decided to run b/c of the Katrina victims. On that note, I picked up a paper yesterday as I was headed back to the room. The headline read:
"Poll: 54% say abandon New Orleans" Wow, while that seems a little harsh it may be logical. The 4/5s of the city that is below sea level is liable to have this happen again. They may just rebuild it on higher ground. I mean Bush just asked Congress for (not sure on this number) about $62 million for the victims. Wow. Also the intial estimates of 10,000 dead are being ruled as unlikely. Right now the total deathtoll is 347, while many bodies remain yet uncovered.
